AIR TERMINAL ALTERATIONS, Vancouver International Airport
For this upgrade to the existing terminal, a new 50 metre long steel and glass canopy cantilevers over the Domestic Arrivals curbside, sheltering newly-arrived passengers awaiting taxi and limousine services. Seismic connections, gutter, drainage and lighting circuits were concealed within the steel structure and existing walkway surface a light, minimal appearance for the canopy. Upgrade included remediation of an existing fascia and soffit. The existing terminal building was constructed in the 1960s and renovated in the 1990s by other architects.
